The law is changing the Crimes Act 1961. You need to know that this change is about escaping from a residence. If you are subject to a public protection order made under the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014, and you escape from where you are supposed to stay, this is part of the change.

This change is adding something new to the Crimes Act 1961, after a specific part of the law. The new part is about what happens if you escape from the place you are required to stay under the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014. You can read more about the Crimes Act 1961 on the New Zealand legislation website.

The Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014 is a law that helps keep people safe. If you have a public protection order, you have to stay in a certain residence. If you leave that residence without permission, you are escaping, and this is now part of the Crimes Act 1961.
