Creates and updates rules about what immigration advisers need to know and how they should behave.

Helps immigration advisers learn and get better at their job.

Tells the public about things related to immigration advice.

Looks into and takes action if someone breaks the rules in this law.

Sets up ways for people to make complaints, including making sure immigration advisers have their own complaint systems.

Sends complaints to a special group called the Tribunal.

Does other jobs that this law or other laws say it should do.

Does any extra tasks that are needed to complete all these jobs.

The person in charge of the Authority, called the Registrar, has to answer to the chief executive for doing all these jobs.
