Regulation of immigration advisers - Immigration Advisers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal

41: Functions of Tribunal

“The Tribunal's jobs: making decisions about immigration adviser problems”

The Immigration Advisers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal has several important jobs. You need to know what these jobs are.

The Tribunal makes decisions about immigration advisers when the Registrar sends them cases. This means they look at problems or issues with immigration advisers and decide what to do.

Sometimes, the Tribunal has to decide if an immigration adviser should stop working for a while. They do this when there’s a serious problem that needs to be looked into more.

The Tribunal also listens to people who disagree with certain decisions. If the Registrar says an immigration adviser can’t work anymore, the adviser can ask the Tribunal to look at this decision again. Also, if someone complains about an immigration adviser and the Registrar says the complaint isn’t important enough, the person who complained can ask the Tribunal to check if that was the right decision.

All of these jobs help make sure that immigration advisers are doing their work properly and that people are treated fairly.
