Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007

Regulation of immigration advisers - Offences

69: Offence to obstruct inspection

You could also call this:

“You can get in trouble for stopping someone from doing their job”

If you try to stop someone from doing their job under section 57, you can get in trouble. This includes trying to trick them, not doing what they ask, or giving them false information. You’re not allowed to do these things unless you have a very good reason.

If you do any of these things, you might have to pay a fine. The most you could be asked to pay is $10,000. This is to make sure people follow the rules and don’t make it hard for others to do their jobs.

Remember, it’s important to be honest and helpful when someone is doing their job under section 57. If you’re not sure what to do, it’s always best to ask for help or advice.
