The Minister has to make a plan called the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. You can think of this plan as a guide to help health organisations improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes for people. The Minister will get advice from the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission when making this plan. The plan will look at how mental health and wellbeing are currently doing and how they might change in the future. It will also set out what needs to be done to improve mental health and addiction services. This includes things like training more people to work in these areas. The Minister can include other things in the plan if they think it's necessary. The plan is meant to help health organisations make good decisions about mental health and wellbeing. It's an important tool to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of people in New Zealand.
