An iwi-Māori partnership board has several jobs. You can think of these jobs as ways the board helps Māori people have better health. The board talks to whānau and hapū about what they need to be healthy. The board looks at how healthy Māori people are in their area. You can call this area the 'relevant locality'. The board works with Health New Zealand to decide what to do to make Māori people healthier. The board checks how well the health system is working in their area. It also talks to Health New Zealand about how to make Māori people healthier. The board tells Māori people in their area what Health New Zealand is doing to help them.
