When Health New Zealand is preparing the New Zealand Health Plan, they must talk to the Ministry, other health entities, and individuals and organisations they think are appropriate. You need to know the plan will be checked by the Auditor-General before it is submitted to the Minister. The Minister must approve the plan for it to be made. The plan must be shown to the House of Representatives and made publicly available as soon as possible after it is made. You can find the plan after the Minister has approved it. The plan will be available for you to see. Some changes to the plan do not need to follow the same process as the original plan, but this only applies to changes that do not affect consumers or service providers in a big way. The Auditor-General checks the plan before the Minister sees it. You can see the plan after it has been approved and made publicly available.
