The Minister has to make a plan called the Women's Health Strategy. You can think of this strategy as a guide to help health organisations improve women's health. The strategy must look at how women's health is currently doing and how the health sector is performing for women. The strategy also needs to think about what might affect women's health in the medium and long term. It must set priorities for health services and improvements that relate to women's health, including training for workers. This does not mean the strategy cannot include other things, it just has to cover these areas at a minimum. The Minister's job is to prepare and decide on this Women's Health Strategy to help guide health organisations. You can expect the strategy to provide a framework for improving health outcomes for women. The Minister's plan is an important step in making sure women receive the best possible healthcare.
