Illustration for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022

When a ministerial committee is set up, you will know about it. The Minister must tell the House of Representatives the committee's name and how many members it has. The Minister must also tell the House of Representatives who is on the committee and who is in charge. You can find out about any changes to the committee, like if it is terminated, and the Minister must give a reason for this. When the Minister decides what a committee will do, they must tell the House of Representatives about it. The Minister must also tell the House of Representatives if they give a committee any directions on how to work. Every year, the Ministry of Health must report on what each committee has done. This report must include the name of the committee, its chairperson, and its members. It must also say if any committee did not report back to the Minister that year. The Minister must give the House of Representatives a copy of any notices about committees, like when one is set up or terminated, as soon as possible. You can find more information about how committees are set up in section 87(2) and section 87(3)(b). The Ministry of Health must give you information about ministerial committees in their annual report.
