13Objectives of Health New Zealand

  1. The objectives of Health New Zealand are—

  2. to design, arrange, and deliver services to achieve the purpose of this Act in accordance with the health sector principles; and
    1. to encourage, support, and maintain community participation in health improvement and service planning; and
      1. to promote health and prevent, reduce, and delay ill-health, including by collaborating with other agencies, organisations, and individuals to address the determinants of health; and
        1. to achieve the best possible health outcomes for all New Zealanders; and
          1. to ensure that planning and service delivery respond to the aspirations and needs of the population.
