13Objectives of Health New Zealand
The objectives of Health New Zealand are—
- to design, arrange, and deliver services to achieve the purpose of this Act in accordance with the health sector principles; and
- to encourage, support, and maintain community participation in health improvement and service planning; and
- to promote health and prevent, reduce, and delay ill-health, including by collaborating with other agencies, organisations, and individuals to address the determinants of health; and
- to achieve the best possible health outcomes for all New Zealanders; and
- to ensure that planning and service delivery respond to the aspirations and needs of the population.
