The Director-General can ask health entities for information to check how they are doing. You need to know that the Director-General can request information about any matter and can also say when the information is needed. The health entity must give the Director-General the information they ask for, and do it on time if a deadline is given. The Director-General is not allowed to ask for personal health information about a specific person. This means they cannot ask for details that would identify someone and their health information. The health entity must follow the rules and give the Director-General the information they need. The Director-General has the power to make these requests in writing, which means they must put it in a document or letter. You should be aware that health entities have to comply with these requests to help the Director-General monitor their performance. This helps the Director-General understand how health entities are doing and make good decisions.
