Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987

Interpretation

2AD: Concurrent employment and self-employment

You could also call this:

“Rules for people who are both employed and self-employed at the same time”

This law talks about people who are both employees and self-employed at the same time. If you are in this situation, you need to know that your rights and benefits for parental leave are looked at separately for your job as an employee and your work as a self-employed person. This means the rules for each type of work are applied on their own. However, there’s an important note: this rule can be changed by what it says in section 2A of the law. So, you might need to check that section too to fully understand your rights.
