Part 1 Primary carer leave
10Date of commencement of primary carer leave
Primary carer leave begins,—
- in the case of a child born to the employee, on the date of confinement; or
- in the case of an employee who is a primary carer under section 7(1)(b)(iii), on the date, within a reasonable period after the date on which the employee becomes the primary carer in respect of the child, that the employee and the employer agree upon; or
- in any other case, on the date on which the employee becomes the primary carer in respect of the child; or
- on such earlier date—
- as is determined in accordance with section 11 or section 12 or section 13; or
- as is appointed by the employer pursuant to section 14.
