Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987

Partner’s leave

19: Duration of Partner’s leave

You could also call this:

“How long partners can take off work in one go”

If you’re a partner taking leave, you must take it all at once. The amount of leave you can take depends on how long you’ve been working for your employer. If you’ve been working for your employer for 12 months or more, you can take up to 2 weeks of leave. If you’ve been working for your employer for 6 months or more, but less than 12 months, you can take up to 1 week of leave. You can’t split this leave into smaller parts - it has to be taken as one continuous period.
