Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987

Payment for parental leave - Administration

71Q: Payments must come out of public money

You could also call this:

“The government uses public money to pay for parental leave”

The law says that the government must use public money to pay for parental leave payments. This means that when you get parental leave payments, the money comes from a special bank account owned by the government. The government gets this money from taxes and other sources that Parliament (the group of people who make laws) has agreed can be used for this purpose. The law also says that any other costs related to giving out these payments must be paid for in the same way.
