Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987

Primary carers not eligible for primary carer leave may request negotiated carer leave

30A: Object of this Part

You could also call this:

“This part explains how some workers can ask for time off to get parental leave money”

This part of the law is about helping certain workers who can’t get primary carer leave. If you’re one of these workers, you can ask your boss for some time off so you can get parental leave payments. Your boss has to answer your request as soon as they can, but they must tell you within a month. Your boss can only say no to your request if they have a good reason why it won’t work for the business.
