Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987

Payment for parental leave - Administration

71W: Obligation to supply information

You could also call this:

“The government can ask for information about your parental leave payment”

If you have applied for a parental leave payment, the government department in charge may ask you for information about your right to get this payment. They can do this by sending you a written notice. If you have an employer, the department can also ask them for information about your right to the payment.

If you work for yourself and have applied for a parental leave payment, the department can ask you for information about your right to get this payment too.

When the department asks you, your employer, or you as a self-employed person for this information, you must give it to them. You need to do this within a reasonable time that the department will set.
