Transport management for Auckland - Auckland Transport

38: Establishment of Auckland Transport

You could also call this:

"Auckland Transport: a separate organisation owned and controlled by Auckland Council"

Illustration for Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009

Auckland Transport is now a separate organisation. You know it as a body that can exist forever and make its own decisions. It is also controlled by the Auckland Council.

Auckland Transport is like a company that the Auckland Council owns. When other laws talk about the Local Government Act 2002, you must think of the Auckland Council as the owner of Auckland Transport. This means the Auckland Council has control over Auckland Transport, according to the Local Government Act 2002.
