You could also call this:

"Auckland Council must help and work with the Māori board to make good decisions for Auckland's Māori people."

The Auckland Council has to help the board by giving them the information they need. You can think of the board like a group that helps the Council make good decisions for Māori people in Auckland. The Council must talk to the board about things that affect Māori people in Auckland.

The Council has to think about the board's advice when making plans and strategies. They also have to make an agreement every year to give the board the money it needs to do its job, as stated in clause 20 of Schedule 2. The Council and the board have to work together on things like getting input from Māori people.

The Council and the board must meet at least four times a year to talk about how the Council is doing its job. Just because the Council has to do these things, it does not mean they do not have to follow other laws that say they have to talk to Māori people.
