Illustration for Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009

You have to follow some rules when you are an Auckland water organisation. You must give effect to the relevant aspects of the LTP. This means you have to do what the LTP says.

You also have to act consistently with other plans and strategies of the Council. The Council's governing body will specify in writing which plans and strategies you must follow. However, you still have to comply with section 57, and nothing in this section or section 92 can stop you from doing that.

This section is also subject to section 84(2) of the Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024 and section 56A of this Act. You have to consider these when you are giving effect to the LTP and acting consistently with other plans and strategies. You must always follow the rules that apply to you.
