79: Review of provisional improvement notice
or “How to ask for a review of a workplace safety notice”

You could also call this:

“Inspector must review notice when someone asks”

When someone asks for a review of a provisional improvement notice, the regulator has to make sure an inspector looks at it as soon as possible. The inspector will check the notice and look into what it’s about. This happens even if the time given to fix the problem in the notice has already passed.

You can ask for a review of a provisional improvement notice under section 79. After you do this, the regulator will get an inspector to do two things. First, they will look over the notice carefully. Second, they will find out more about the situation that the notice is talking about.

It’s important to know that an inspector can still review the notice even if the deadline for fixing the problem has gone by. This means you can still ask for a review even if you think it might be too late.
