Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

Miscellaneous provisions - Administration - Information sharing

198: Requirement of other regulator to notify WorkSafe of notifiable event

You could also call this:

“Other regulators must inform WorkSafe about serious incidents”

If a regulator other than WorkSafe gets told about a notifiable event under section 56, they have to do two things as soon as they can. First, they need to give WorkSafe a copy of the notification. Second, they have to tell WorkSafe if they’re going to look into the event. If they are going to investigate, they need to say whether they’ll do it under this law or a different one.
