Criminal Procedure Act 2011

Appeals - Appeals against finding of or sentence for contempt of court - Further appeals

264: Right of appeal against determination of first appeal court

You could also call this:

"You can ask a higher court to review a decision made by a lower appeal court."

If you want to appeal a decision made by the first appeal court, you can ask the second appeal court to hear your case. You need to get permission from the second appeal court to do this. The second appeal court is called the High Court or the Court of Appeal.

The High Court or the Court of Appeal will only let you appeal if they think the case is very important to lots of people or if something has gone wrong with the case and it needs to be fixed. They might also let you appeal if they think something will go wrong with the case if they do not hear it. You have to ask them for permission to appeal.
