Illustration for Criminal Procedure Act 2011

If you get a summons under section 28 or 29, you must go to court. You have to go to the court where the charging document has been or will be filed, and you must go within 2 months of the date of the summons.

The summons will tell you some important things, like who you are, what you are charged with, and when and where you must go to court.

It will also tell you any other information that the court rules say you need to know, and you can find more information by looking at the rules of court and other related laws like ss 19A(2) and 19B(1).
