The charter for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) must include some important things. You need to know what the charter says about recording MPC meetings, like what is in the records and when they are published, as stated in clause 55 of Schedule 3. The charter also includes guidelines for MPC members about what they can share publicly. The charter can also talk about other information the MPC shares, how they make decisions, and other matters. You can find more information about the purpose of the charter in section 101. The charter must follow the rules in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 2021, so it cannot say anything that contradicts the Act.
