82Governor
The Governor of the Bank is—
- the chief executive of the Bank; and
- a member of the board (by virtue of holding office as the Governor).
The Governor must be appointed by the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Minister.
The Governor is not an employee of the Bank.
The office of Governor includes—
- performing and exercising functions and powers delegated by the board (see sections 74 to 77); and
- performing and exercising functions and powers as the chairperson and a member of the MPC (see clause 35 of Schedule 3 for the Governor’s duties as chairperson).
