  1. The Governor of the Bank is—

  2. the chief executive of the Bank; and
    1. a member of the board (by virtue of holding office as the Governor).

      1. The Governor must be appointed by the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Minister.

      2. The Governor is not an employee of the Bank.

      3. The office of Governor includes—

      4. performing and exercising functions and powers delegated by the board (see sections 74 to 77); and
        1. performing and exercising functions and powers as the chairperson and a member of the MPC (see clause 35 of Schedule 3 for the Governor’s duties as chairperson).
