You are considered a good employer if you have a personnel policy that treats employees fairly. This policy must include things like good and safe working conditions. It must also include an equal employment opportunities programme. You need to select employees in a fair way and consider the needs of different groups, like Māori and people with disabilities. You should also give employees chances to improve their skills and recognise the different cultures and needs of your employees. An equal employment opportunities programme is a plan to find and remove barriers that make it unfair for some people to get jobs. You can find more information about this in section 177.
