The Bank has to give reports on monetary policy to the Minister at least 4 times a year. You can find a copy of each report on the Bank's Internet site. The Bank must make sure the report is approved by the Monetary Policy Committee before giving it to the Minister. The Bank gives these reports to the Minister and they are also sent to the House of Representatives. The reports are available for you to see on the Internet. The Bank follows a charter that says how often they must give these reports. You can compare this to an older law, the 1989 law, by following the link to https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1986/0120/latest/link.aspx?id=LMS180671. The Bank has to follow the rules and give the reports as required. The reports help keep you informed about what the Bank is doing with monetary policy.
