General offences

290Penalties for offences

  1. Every person who commits an offence against section 289(1) is liable on conviction,—

  2. in the case of an individual, to a fine not exceeding $2,000; or
    1. in any other case, to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
      1. Every person who commits an offence against section 289(2) is liable on conviction,—

      2. in the case of an individual, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or a fine not exceeding $5,000 (or both); or
        1. in any other case, to a fine not exceeding $15,000.
