This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Regulation of public valuers - Registration of valuers - Register of valuers

You could also call this:

"A list of approved valuers that you can search at any time"

Illustration for Valuers Bill

The Registrar has to keep a list of valuers, which is called the register. You can think of the register as a list of people who are allowed to work as valuers. The register can be electronic or it can be kept in another way that the Registrar chooses. The register must be available for you to look at and search at any time, unless the Registrar suspends it. The Registrar can suspend the register if they think it is not practical to let people access it. The Registrar can also suspend the register for other reasons that are stated in the regulations. The Registrar gets to decide how the register is kept and when you can access it. You should be able to access the register at all times, but there may be times when it is not available. The register is an important tool that helps people find valuers who are qualified to do their job.
