This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Valuers Bill

Regulation of public valuers - Appeals

50: Board of Appeal may award costs

You could also call this:

"The Board of Appeal can decide who pays costs when you appeal a decision."

Illustration for Valuers Bill

If you appeal a decision, the Board of Appeal can order someone to pay costs. You might have to pay costs if you appeal, or you might get costs paid to you. The Board of Appeal decides who pays the costs and who gets them. The costs that the Board of Appeal awards can be recovered in court. This means that if you are awarded costs, you can take the other party to court to get the money. The court will make the other party pay you the costs they owe you.
