The Valuer-General will choose a public service employee to be the Registrar. You can think of the Registrar as a helper for the Board. The Registrar also acts as the secretary of the Board. The Registrar's job is to help the Board do its work efficiently under this proposed law. The person who is the Registrar can also hold another job in the public service at the same time. The term public service refers to what is defined in section 10 of the Public Service Act 2020. The Registrar's role is an important one, and they will work closely with the Board. The Valuer-General's choice for Registrar will help the Board carry out its functions. This is part of the proposed changes to the law.
