Companies Act 1993

Liquidations - Duties, rights, and powers of liquidators

260: Powers of liquidator

You could also call this:

“What a liquidator can do when winding up a company”

The law says that if you’re a liquidator, you have special powers to do your job. These powers help you carry out your tasks and duties as set out in the Companies Act 1993. The Act gives you these powers so you can do your work properly.

You have all the powers you need to do your liquidator duties. You also have any other powers that the Act specifically gives to liquidators.

There’s a list of powers that you have as a liquidator. You can find this list in Schedule 6 of the Act. This schedule gives you more details about what you can do in your role.
