390: Service of other documents on overseas companies

You could also call this:

“How to deliver documents to overseas companies in New Zealand”

When you need to give a document to an overseas company, but it’s not for a court case, you have several ways to do it. You can use some of the methods mentioned in section 389, like giving it to someone who works for the company or leaving it at their office in New Zealand.

You can also send the document by post to the company’s main office in New Zealand. If the company uses a document exchange box, you can put it there too.

Another option is to send the document by fax to the company’s main office in New Zealand. You need to use the fax number they use for receiving documents.

You can even email the document to the overseas company. Just make sure you use an email address that the company actually uses.

Remember, these rules might change a bit depending on what section 391(3A) to (3C) says. Always check that part to make sure you’re following all the rules correctly.
