50: Minister may appoint Inspectors to carry out this Part if local authority fails to do so

You could also call this:

"The Minister can send Inspectors to do a job if the local council doesn't do it."

If a local authority does not do its job regarding injurious birds, the Minister can appoint Inspectors to do the work instead. The Minister has this power under the Wildlife Act 1953. You can find more information about changes to this law in the Biosecurity Law Reform Act 2012, which repealed this part of the Act on 18 September 2012.
