Wildlife Act 1953

General provisions - Infringement offences

70G: Taking protected wildlife or game

You could also call this:

"Don't hunt, keep, or harm protected animals without permission"

You must not hunt or kill protected wildlife or game without permission. You are also not allowed to buy, sell, or keep protected wildlife or game, or any parts of them, like skins or feathers. You cannot disturb or destroy the nests of protected wildlife or game either.

If you do any of these things without permission, you will commit an offence. This is stated in the Wildlife Act 1953, and more information can be found through the Conservation (Infringement System) Act 2018. You will get in trouble if you break this rule.
