70L: Farming or breeding certain unprotected animals

"Rules for farming or breeding certain unprotected animals in New Zealand"

You must not farm or breed certain animals that are listed in Schedule 8. You are also not allowed to capture, move, or keep these animals in captivity for farming or breeding.

If you have permission from the Minister under section 41, or if you are following rules made under this Act, then you are allowed to do these things.

If you do not follow this rule, you will commit an infringement offence.

Infringement offences

70LFarming or breeding certain unprotected animals

  1. A person must not—

  2. farm or breed wildlife specified in Schedule 8; or
    1. for the purposes of farming or breeding, capture, convey, or keep in captivity wildlife specified in Schedule 8.
      1. This section does not apply if the activity undertaken by the person is authorised by the Minister under section 41 or by any regulations made under this Act.

      2. A person who fails to comply with this section commits an infringement offence.
