Wildlife Act 1953

General provisions

60: Protection of rangers and others

You could also call this:

"Rangers and people doing similar jobs are protected by law while doing their work."

If you are doing a job as a ranger or something similar under the Wildlife Act 1953, you are protected by the law. You will not get in trouble for things you do as part of your job, unless you do something on purpose to hurt someone or you do not have a good reason for doing it. You must be acting in good faith and have a reasonable cause for your actions to be protected by the law, and you can find more information about changes to this law in the Wildlife (Powers) Amendment Act 2017.
