19ECBasis of election of members of local board
A local board area may be subdivided for electoral purposes.
Each subdivision must elect at least 1 member of the local board.
If a local board area comprises 2 or more whole wards, the elected members of the local board may be elected by the electors of each ward.
If the local board area is not subdivided for electoral purposes, the members of the local board must, unless they are to be elected in accordance with subsection (3), be elected by the electors of the local board area as a whole.
If a local board area is subdivided for electoral purposes or if the members of the local board are to be elected in accordance with subsection (3),—
- each member of the local board who represents a subdivision must be elected by the electors of that subdivision; and
- each member of the local board who represents a ward must be elected by the electors of that ward.
