You can divide a local board area into smaller parts for voting. Each part must elect at least one member to the local board. The local board members can be elected by the people in each part or by everyone in the local board area. You can also divide the local board area into wards. If you do, the members can be elected by the people in each ward. If the area is not divided, the members are elected by everyone in the area. If the local board area is divided, each member represents a part of the area. They are elected by the people who live in that part. This also applies if the area is divided into wards, where each member represents a ward and is elected by the people in that ward.
