When you are deciding how to elect people to a regional council, you must make sure some things happen. You need to ensure that the areas people are elected to represent will give a good voice to the different communities in the region. You also need to try to make the boundaries of these areas match the boundaries used for parliamentary elections and for territorial authority districts or wards. This will help make sure that the people elected to the regional council can effectively represent the people who live in their area.
