When deciding things about community boards, you need to think about certain factors. You must consider the criteria that apply to local government reorganisation under the Local Government Act 1974 or the Local Government Act 2002. You also need to make sure the election of community board members provides fair representation of electors and communities of interest. You have to ensure community boundaries match the statistical meshblock areas used by Statistics New Zealand. When deciding how to elect community board members, you can choose from the options listed in section 19J(2)(h).
