When you buy a used motor vehicle, a notice must be attached to it. This notice must contain certain information, including a statement about what happens if you buy a vehicle that has a security interest on it, which is explained in section 58 of the Personal Property Securities Act 1999. You should also be told about any other important details that are required by law, such as those prescribed by section 27 of the Fair Trading Act 1986. This information is important for you to know when buying a used motor vehicle. The notice must also include any other details that the law says must be included. These rules do not change any other laws that apply to buying a used motor vehicle, including section 58 of the Personal Property Securities Act 1999 and section 27 of the Fair Trading Act 1986.
