The register of motor vehicle traders is kept for several reasons. You can use it to find out who is in charge of a motor vehicle trading business and how to contact them. You can also use it to check if a person is registered as a motor vehicle trader under the Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003. The register helps the Ministry and the Commerce Commission enforce the law and make sure people follow the rules. It also helps the Ministry with its work under the Act, such as checking if people are doing what they are supposed to do.
