You need to know that a register of motor vehicle traders is kept in New Zealand. The register can be electronic or kept in another way that the Registrar chooses. The register must be available at all times. You can access the register unless the Registrar suspends it or regulations say otherwise. The Registrar can suspend the register if they think it is not practical to provide access. This means you might not be able to access the register at certain times. The Registrar has control over the register and can make decisions about how it is kept and accessed. This is an important part of the Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003. You should be aware of the rules around the register of motor vehicle traders.
