You are looking at a part of the Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003. This part is called Transitional, savings, and related provisions. It has rules that help when other laws change. When a new person starts helping manage a motor vehicle trader, the trader must tell the authorities. If this happened before a certain date, the old rules apply. This is because of a change made by the Regulatory Systems (Economic Development) Amendment Act 2025. You can find more information about this in section 40A and section 143 of the Regulatory Systems (Economic Development) Amendment Act 2025.
