Illustration for Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003

The Registrar has to keep a list of banned persons for the Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003. You can think of this list as a record of people who are not allowed to do certain things related to motor vehicle sales. The Registrar can keep this list in a digital format or in any other way they think is suitable. The list must be available at all times, but the Registrar can stop it from being used if they think it's not practical. The Registrar can also stop the list from being used if regulations made under this Act say so. This means the list might not always be available if there's a good reason to stop it. The Registrar gets to decide how the list is kept and when it's available. They can refuse to let people see the list or stop it from being used if they think it's necessary. This helps the Registrar control who can see the list and when.
