You get an infringement notice when you break a rule. The notice must have certain information on it. It must say what you did wrong, where and when. You must be told how much you have to pay, which is $500. You need to know where to pay the fee and when to pay it by. The notice must also tell you about your rights, like requesting a hearing. It must explain what happens if you do not pay the fee or ask for a hearing. The notice may have other information on it as well, like a summary of section 21(10) of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957. This is so you know what to do next.
