Electricity Industry Act 2010

Electricity industry governance - Who does what - Electricity Authority

18: Reviews on request by Minister

You could also call this:

"Minister can ask for a review of the electricity industry"

The Minister can ask the Electricity Authority to look into and report on any part of the electricity industry. Before making this request, the Minister needs to talk to the Authority first. When asking for a review, the Minister can set a deadline for the report, give specific instructions on how to do the review, and tell the Authority what to focus on.

If the Authority finds something important that's not part of the review, they can still tell the Minister about it in their final report or in a separate report. After getting the final report, the Minister has to make it public within 15 days. However, the Minister can keep some information secret if they think it shouldn't be shared under the Official Information Act 1982.
