129A: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority consultation about request for appropriation

You could also call this:

“Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority must chat with people before asking for money”

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority needs to talk to certain people before asking the Minister for money. This is about money they want to get from industry participants through levies.

Before they ask for money for the next year or want to change how much money they get this year, they must talk to:

  1. The industry participants who have to pay the levy
  2. Other people who might be seriously affected by the levy

After they talk to these people, they need to tell the Minister what happened during these conversations.

This rule started for money requests from 1 July 2018 onwards.
