Electricity Industry Act 2010

Separation of distribution from certain generation - Enforcement and general provisions - Enforcement and penalties for this Part

81: Injunctions

You could also call this:

“The court can stop people from breaking electricity rules and protect businesses”

If the High Court thinks someone might break, is breaking, or has broken the rules in this part of the law, it can do some things to stop them. The Authority or anyone else can ask the court to help. The court can tell the person to stop doing what they’re doing wrong. It can also make the person do certain things to take care of their business or keep their business safe. Sometimes, the court might even choose someone to run or watch over the business to make sure everything is done right.

When the court is looking into these problems, it can ask the Authority to find out more information. The Authority can ask questions and get people to show them important papers or things that might help solve the problem.
